Intensify everyone’s summer season grilling favorite with Worcestershire sauce, bell pepper, and other simple spices you probably have on hand, then top with a slice of good ole American cheese.

lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef -

cup carefully sliced onion (1 small) -

cup finely chopped green bell pepper -

tablespoons Worcestershire sauce -

slices (1 oz) American cheese -

burger buns, split -

cup sandwich spread (from 16- oz jar) -
Red onion slices, if wanted

Heat gas or charcoal grill. In medium bowl, mix ground beef, onion, bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, experienced salt, garlic powder and pepper up until well combined. Shape mixture into 6 patties, 1/2 inch thick.

Place patties on grill. Cover grill; cook over medium heat 13 to 15 minutes, turning as soon as, up until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160 ° F. To toast buns, location cut sides down on grill during last 1 to 2 minutes of cooking time. Top each patty with cheese piece; prepare simply until cheese is melted.

Spread cut sides of toasted buns with sandwich spread; top with onion slices. Location cheese-topped patties in buns.
- Sandwich spread is a mayonnaise-based item with pickle relish and special flavorings included for a tangy and slightly sweet taste. Try to find it in the mayonnaise section of the supermarket.
- This recipe is simple to double if you are captivating a crowd. Just make sure you have area on your grill for 12 patties or prepare them in batches.
