My family and I have a habit to seek out unique restaurants, especially while on trips. Not too long ago, while trapped on the busy, downtown streets of San Francisco, we stopped by a run-down Mediterranean restaurant and were completely blown away by the food. The food was so incredible, that we brought back the experience into our own kitchen.

How to Make Gyro and Tzatziki Sauce Recipe
Begin by reading the printable recipe and gathering your ingredients. Set aside at least two hours to marinate the lamb as directed. Once it has marinated, you will cook the lamb on the grill or stovetop as you prefer.
Note: As the lamb cooks very fast, you will need to be careful to check the temperature and not overcook.
Tzatziki Sauce and Assembling Gyro
Prepare and mix together your tzatziki sauce ingredients. If you have time, do this in advance so the flavors can meld together for a few hours before serving. When your lamb has been cooked and is ready to eat, you will assemble your Gryo with your preferred pita or naan bread, lettuce, feta, tomatoes, and a dollop of the sauce.
