Treat your little ghosts and goblins to a tummy-warming stew that looks them right in the eye!

pound lean (a minimum of 80%) ground beef -

medium onion, coarsely chopped (1/2 cup) -

bag (12 oz) frozen combined vegetables -

can (145 oz) Muir Glen ™ natural diced tomatoes with Italian herbs, undrained -

container (12 oz) beef gravy -

cup butter or margarine -

teaspoon garlic powder -

cup milk -

cups Betty Crocker ™ mashed potatoes (dry)

Heat oven to 375 ° F. In 12- inch frying pan, cook beef and onion over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring sometimes, up until thoroughly prepared; drain. Set 12 peas (from frozen vegetables) aside for garnish. Include staying frozen vegetables, tomatoes and gravy to beef mix. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and cook 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, till veggies are crisp-tender.

In 2-quart pan, heat water, butter and garlic powder to boiling. Remove from heat; include milk. Stir in dry potatoes; mix well.

Spoon beef mixture into ungreased 8-inch square (2-quart) or oval (2 1/2- quart) glass baking meal. With large spoon, make 6 mounds of potato mix on top of beef mixture to look like ghosts.
- The early Celts believed you might repel the ghosts that came out on Halloween by lighting lanterns or candle lights. Why not keep these little ghosts at bay by lighting candles at the table?
- Serve bowls of tasty, saucy “pie” with cut-up veggies and dip and warm-from-the-oven breadsticks.
